Your baby’s development is very rapid during the second month. All major body organs and body systems, including the brain, lungs, liver and stomach are in the early stages of growth. Your baby’s heart is pumping while its facial structure in coming to life. Eyes, ears, nose and lips are forming. Ankles, toes, wrists, fingers and sexual organs are developing. At the end of the second month of pregnancy, your baby will start looking like a tiny human infant.

Your baby now has the ability to shimmy around. If you have an ultrasound scan, you may see your baby moving around. You’ll have to wait another couple of months before you can feel anything in your tummy area.

# Tips for mum:
You might be experiencing morning sickness or nausea during the day. Don’t be surprised if you undergo some raging mood swings as well! Fatigue is also an issue throughout the first trimester.

  • Wear clothes that fit loosely around the abdomen
  • Avoid bending over at the waist. Bend with your knees instead
  • Eat slowly with small mouthfuls
